NICE!! POPULAR CANADIAN SINGER "THE WEEKEND" DONATES $250K TO "BLACK LIVES MATTER"


Grammy-Award-Singer The Weekend is donating donating $250,000(U.S) to the Black Lives Matter Movement.

The R&B singer made the announcement on Wednesday, days after his $50,000(Cdn.) donation to the University Of Toronto to establish the Ethiopian studies program

The parents of The Weekend, Abel Tesfaye are from Ethiopia but raise there Award winning son in Toronto.

The Weekend (aka Abel Tesfaye) is one artist who can be described for a million things.

The Weekend is just an incredible guy. The weekend is a song writer and a record producer aside being a Canadian singer. But right now this great R&B king can add another title to his ever-expanding list. The weekend has a very unique name and presently is one of the most generous men in show business.




He immediately qualified for this moniker after the news break of donating a whooping sum of $250,000 to Black Lives Matter Movement , an organization that he has been a staunched support of since its inception. This comes a crucial time for the movement, where America has witness a growing number of brutality killing that doesn't look like its ending soon enough.

Black Lives Matter, which advocates for justice and freedom for African-Americans, was founded in 2003 by Patrisse Collors, Alicia Gaza and Opal Tometi. The organization has garnered attention after rebuking police treatment of minorities.

The weekend Hit songs include "can't feel my face","The Hills", and "Earned It" which was nominated for Academy Award. He earned  two Grammy Awards earlier this year.
