Some people prefer thongs or g-strings as they don’t show any Visible Panty Lines. I’m one of them. There are different kinds available in the market. They come in lace, silk, microfiber,etc.
Aside from thongs, there are also these laser cut microfiber underwear that have no bulky seams and very thin so they can be worn under a skirt without any fear of VPL. I found them in one of my shopping trips in a boutique in Nashville, TN. If you’re not comfortable with thongs, I would recommend this one from Commando. Then of course, if you really want to have a smooth silhouette, body shapers or shapewears would be a good thing to wear. You can wear an all-in-one body suit or just a bottom. Companies like Spanx, Maidenform, Nancy Ganz, etc. all offer their version of shapewear. You can wear one of those that sit on your waist or those that go under your bust for a lean look.
If you want control plus hosiery then you can have the two-in-one hosiery where the waist and hips portions have spandex and the rest are sheer. They’re normally called tummy control or something similar. Just make sure the seam in the middle is not bulky.
