Border Control NIS deports 29 illegal migrants

According to Abdullahi Azare, the Unit supervisor, Immigration of ECOWAS Section, the arrests were made following a tip-off.

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), have deported 29 illegal migrants from the Republic of Niger back to their country.

The Nation reported that out of 79 people arrested, only 29 failed to present residential papers.
Mrs. Clara Okojie, the Lagos State Command Comptroller, revealed that the exercise was carried out to remove illegal person from the state.
According to Abdullahi Azare, the Unit supervisor, Immigration of ECOWAS Section, the arrests were made following a tip-off.
Azare stated that Lagos State welcomes anyone with the intent of tourism or business, can do so as long as they provide the right documents.
Ahmed Yusuf, a Deputy Comptroller said, anyone found without travel document will repatriated back to their respective countries.
